In the Beginning:

Tony Cook started in the label business in 1992, working for a small label company in Grand Rapids, Michigan. In June of 1994, Tony left the label company and started his own label brokerage company. During this time, Tony worked with over 30 label companies nationwide, visiting and touring most of them, all the while taking notes of what he liked and did not like. He was building a vision for the type of manufacturing facility that he would like to someday build.

In the fall of 1998, Tony and his partner bought a 4,500 sq. foot building and put in their first press, and by the beginning of 1999, Tony was producing labels off of his own press. In 2000, Tony bought out his partner and in 2002 combined his brokerage company and manufacturing company into Great Lakes Label, LLC and moved into a 6,500 sq. foot facility and bought a second Webtron 5 color press. By 2004, Tony had bought his 3rd Webtron press. The additions brought on a need for much more space. Tony decided to finally build the building he had envisioned over the years and by the end of 2005, Great Lakes Label moved into a state of the art free span 26,000 sq. ft manufacturing facility.
