How a Spectrophotometer Works
Once the printed label sample is placed under the digital tool for it to read and analyze the color. The spectrophotometer is pressed down until information is brought up on the tool’s screen and attached computer. From there, the flexographic press operator makes intelligent adjustment decisions based on data. This ensures accurate color for your brand every time.

“We start with color matching the ink prior to sending it to press. Then at the end of the press, we use a digital tool called a spectrophotometer that we use to measure the hue and balance of that ink and we make sure that is within industry standard specified by the customer.”
We Also Use A Graphiclite Light Booth
A Pantone color swatch booklet and Graphiclite light booth act as another checkpoint for operators. Here, they can match the label sample’s color to the one provided on the Pantone swatch using the best lighting. It’s a simple, yet effective way to ensure branded color consistency.
