Oktoberfest rightfully gets beer lovers excited. It seemingly acts as a last summer festival hurrah the same way it welcomes in the fall season. Are you designing a new Oktoberfest beer label or looking to spruce up your current design? Here are three must-have design elements. We even created an R&D digital sample to help you visualize our suggestions.
Infuse A Traditional Oktoberfest Aesthetic
Transport your customers to Germany with Germanic motifs and a traditional design. Do your research. What are the major elements to the festival and how can you incorporate them into your design? Also, use vibrant imagery to coincide with the vibrancy of the traditions.
Use Orange in Your Color Scheme
It is fall, after all! Where imagery is concerned, this color shows up in people’s customary wardrobe, the above lion statue or in architecture. On top of that, the color is symbolic of autumn leaves and puts customers into a nostalgic and festive mood. The blue checkers are another common design element used and beautifully pairs with the orange to draw the eye across the label.
Make It Your Own with Innovative Techniques
Enhance your title with foiling, or make your motifs come to life with rotary screen. As you can see in our above R&D sample, we matched the foiled title with the copper/gold found in the lion statue. The statue and beer mug would have a rotary screen over top to create a glossy, lifelike texture. The wheat behind the statue would also use foiling to tie the whole design together. Whether you are looking to enhance an existing label, or you’re incorporating techniques from scratch, they catch customers’ eyes. There’s nothing quite like a glistening label with texture to engage the customers’ senses.
